The Three Principles of Making Money with Marketing

Successful marketing is about delivering the right message to the right people at the right time.

There are three phases to marketing. If you follow them carefully, you can generate very interested leads that will be interested in becoming new clients and customers.

The Right People

The first step is to decide who you are selling to.

  • What is the job title of the poeple who can benefit the most from your product?
  • What is the job title of the people who can decide to purchase your product?

The next step is to decide what type of businesses are the best for you.

  • Are you targeting startups, small businesses, or departments within larger companies?
  • What industry would be most interested? Is there a city, state, or country that might be best to start with?

From here, we have a nice audience of prospects, any of which who has a legitimate reason to become your next customer.

The Right Message

It's important for your new prospects to know that you are there to help them. You built something to solve their biggest problems and to turn their challenges into triumphs. This starts and ends with first-class content. It can be blogs, articles, landing pages, product pages, webinars, white papers, social media posts, podcasts, and a mix of all of them to show how what you have to offer will help them and the benefit of buying is far greater than the risk of passing.

The Right Time

When is the right time to send the right message?

All the time!

On average, one out of every six prospects are in a position to need your product right now.

That means you need to keep constant contact with them.

How do you it without being spammy?

Always give them something of value and make contact every so often.

As long as you give them something they can use or learn from, and do it on a steady but not too frequent basis, you give them the chance to tell you when they are ready.

They will do it by replying to you how happy they are you reached out. That's the signal.
